In order to expand the spread of fuel cell vehicles, it is necessary to investigate the hydrogen embrittlement of
aluminum alloys used for hydrogen-related structural applications. Crack initiation and crack propagation in the hydrogen embrittlement process have been evaluated without making much distinction between them. However, crack initiation and crack propagation should be assessed separately so that appropriate prevention measure can be taken for each. Therefore, firstly, in this study, constant load tests and slow strain rate tensile tests have been performed on Al-Zn-Mg and Al-Mg-Si alloys, mainly to evaluate the crack initiation.
