Internal Fire Probabilistic Safety Assessment (FPSA) was performed for the UK ABWR generic design as part of the full scope PSA. The FPSA covered At Power and Shutdown Plant Operational States (POSs). The Shutdown FPSA was developed based on the At Power FPSA and internal events Shutdown PSA, in order to demonstrate insignificant risk contribution from internal fire during plant outage. Two representative shutdown POSs were selected based on the expected risk significance. NUREG/CR-7114 was used for the guidance in addition to NUREG/CR-6850. This paper describes the key considerations for Shutdown FPSA compared to the At Power FPSA, e.g., plant partitioning, Multiple Spurious Operations (MSOs), Ignition Frequency, de-inerted containment. The Shutdown FPSA results and insights are also presented.
