Accurate measurements of flow rate are required in many industrial plants. To measure the flow rate of biased flow accurately, increasing the number of measurement lines is required. In this study, a tomography clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeter is proposed to measure the flow rate. Large-divergence angle transducers are employed for measuring the transit-time difference in the diagonal direction from the outside of the pipe. It was shown that the signal in the diagonal direction could be obtained using the clamp-on transducer. For the biased flow, the measurement error of the flow rate was large even if three measurement lines that passing through the pipe center were employed. Although the conversion factors for calculating the flow rate from the transit-time difference based on the axisymmetric flow were used, the flow rate in the biased flow could be obtained accurately using the tomography method.
