Abstract
Micro-droplets of distilled water on solid surface were observed with an atomic force microscope (AFM) in non-contact mode. It is preferable to observe it by tapping mode or contact mode from the point of view of resolution. However, it is difficult to observe micro-droplets because of deformation of micro-droplets or liquid bridge formation. In this paper, AFM probe were treated with water-repellent. We tried to observe micro-droplets by tapping mode. As a result, micro-droplets, which is 40 nm in height, were observed. In addition, we tried to evaluate capillarity of droplet by tapping mode force curve.
