The authors applied the three conditions for desirable structures by a load transfer index Ustar (U*) to the objective function of the topology optimization (method: level set method) of the structure, and examined fundamental studies on optimum structure design for the load transfer path. We performed a topology optimization calculation on a square flat plate structure and confirmed an increase in specific stiffness of the optimized structure. We showed that the topology optimization of the structure using the load transfer path is effective against the stiffness, also showed difference of optimization results by application of load transfer path.
