Abstract

In this paper, an experimental system is developed to analyze external forces in precision rotating machineries. Dynamics of the rotating machineries depends on the external forces synchronous with rotating speed of a rotating shaft such as unbalanced forces, oil film forces at a journal bearing, and seal contact forces. Moreover, characteristics of the external forces are dependent on rotating orbit of the rotating shaft. Therefore, analyzing the characteristics is required on the various rotating orbits for developing the rotating machinery. The proposed system can realize the various rotating orbits and analyze the external forces by using the adaptive feed-forward cancellation. Experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed system.
