GM-1 THE RESEARCH OF HIGH ACCURACY MANUFACTURING OF BIG MODULE AND LARGE DIAMETER GEAR WITH HARD MATERIAL(GEAR MANUFACTURING)

The big module & large open gears used for sugar mill were mostly made with cast steel material. But in recent, as the output horsepower is getting bigger, the welding structure gear made with quenching & tempering hard material (hardness about H_B350) is used for instead. The practical experience concerning about gear cutting tools & cutting conditions & tool life and tool cost etc., those were used in cutting above-mentioned high hardness material successfully, will be reported. Further more, after precise finish cutting with high precision TiN-coated hob, we measured the profile, pitch and lead accuracy of big module & large gear and the result of that high precision finish with accuracy higher up to about JIS class 3 is achieved. We will like to report all of them.
