Abstract
Three kinds of drawing processes, namely, unidirectional drawing, reverse re-drawing and four steps reverse re-drawing, were applied in drawing the steel wire rods called SWRCH6R. Residual stresses of the steel wire rod drawn with each of the three kinds of drawing processes were measured. As for measurement residual stress, surface residual stress of the axis direction of the steel wire rod was measured with X-ray analysis method. The result shows that there is a clear difference in residual stress between unidirectional drawing and reverse re-drawing at gross reduction nearly 28 %. But at gross reduction 62 % or over, there is little difference in residual stress. In addition, texture of the steel wire rod was observed with measuring method called Schulz reflection method which is one of X-ray analysis methods.
