Abstract
Stratified fluids in gravitational field show some peculiar behavior different from homogeneous fluids. Free convection is one of such typical phenomena in stratified flows. The phenomenon is of practical importance in civil engineering or geophysical fluid dynamics. In this paper Finite Difference Lattice Boltzman Method and the thermal Lattice BGK model is applied to the compressible stratified fluid and we have simulated the free convection.
