An experimental investigation and numerical analysis was made to clarify the unsteady characteristics of the cavitation on an oscillating hydrofoil. The behavior of the cavitation affected by the hydrofoil oscillation is discussed based on the visual observations using the high-speed video recording. Concerning the response of the cavity to pitching motion of hydrofoil, the amplitude of cavity length fluctuation and the phase between the angle of attack and cavity oscillation was measured.
