Abstract
Aerodynamic foil bearing consists of a rigid housing and some flexible foil elements. In the research on this subject for these years, it has been studied on the multi-leaves foil bearing which consists of a rigid housing and three flexible foil elements. From the experimental results, it was been known that the performances of bearing change with the number of wires fixed on the back of foil and the bearing clearance. In this investigation, the experimental apparatus was renewed for the advanced reserch. Then, the multi-leaves foil bearing and the newly proposed one were tested and their rotational performances were compared with each other.
