Abstract
This paper presents FEM numerical solutions of an elasto-hydrodynamically lubricated (EHL) contact of an undulated seal-like elastomer surface onto a smooth rigid surface. This analysis is based on thought of soft-EHL relating to the variation of surface topography of the elastomer. The results are summarized in a non-dimensional formula which gives the minimum oil film thickness as a function of speed and load parameters.
