Electrorheological(ER) fluids undergo a change in apparent viscosity upon application of electric field. ER slurry, which is composed of ER fluid and agrasive grains, is available for efficient polishing or finishing. In this paper, we propose a method of polishing or finishing with ER slurry and unilateral (or one-sided) patterned electrodes.
