Abstract
Recently the environmental assessment for the air quality in a city area becomes increasingly important with the introduction of distributed power generation systems. Though Large Eddy Simulation will be the most effective technique to predict complex flow field over such a building area, it is necessary to give an unsteady flow at the inflow boundary, and it is important problem itself. In this study a series of numerical simulation was executed to simulate air flow observed in wind tunnel experiment by using spire-roughness method, and the influence of the inflow property to the turbulence statistics around a cubic building were investigated. Consequently, the low frequency of the inflow plays especially important role for the prediction of the turbulent characteristics above the building height.
