Abstract
This paper presents topological design of planar structure using local rule. We obtain the structure by changing initial structure trying to have uniform stress in whole structure. Finite element method is used to solve the two-dimensional elastic problem. The structure is updated by changing Young's modulus of each cell. Variation of Young's modulus is determined by density parameter, which is changed by local rule with the states of the cells and the surrounding cells. And more, we set global rule to apply local rule considering stress of each elements. Using this algorithm, we obtain various topology and efficient structure.
