It has been believed that blood vessel diseases like early atherosclerotic lesions preferentially develop in the branching and the curve of arteries is largely related to the complex blood flow pattern due to the unique complex geometry of blood vessel and unsteady flow. In present study, we focused on an aortic arch which is especially the complex flow channel among the arteries, and is strongly affected by heart cycle. We do numerical analysis of steady flow and pulsatile flow in the aortic arch model. Localized lower wall shear stress distribution which may be related to the distribution of the early atherosclerosis is found at inner wall of downstream of the model. And the pattern of secondary flow at the cross section of model where the magnitude of wall shear stress changes significantly due to the pulsatile flow varies with the velocity.
