Abstract
Recently, the spread of the micro gas turbine is hoped for an effective use of energy. Air-lubricated foil bearings that can be adaptable to a high temperature environment and high-speed rotation are applied to such a micro gas turbine. To make use of the foil bearings to the micro gas turbine expected as a distributed energy source and a movable power supply, there is a problem of scarceness of the damping performance. In this study, the authors propose a new bearing structure in which the glass wool was given to improve the damping characteristics and examined its performance experimentally.
