Abstract
In this paper, an isothermal plane elastic problem of an inhomogeneous medium is dealt. As an analytical model, the plane elastic problem is considered for a slab with a Griffith crack subjected to tension on the boundary surfaces. Making use of the fundamental equations system, which is already established in our previous paper, the analytical solution for such singular stress field is successfully developed. Carrying out numerical calculation, the effect of inhomogeneity in the material properties upon the elastic behaviors is discussed.
