Abstract
The composite materials bonded some different materials may have cracks in their interface because of poor bonding, fatigue, and other factors. In the experiments for interfacial fracture under dynamic load, transonic crack propagations can be happened. In these phenomena, the crack propagation velocities exceed the shear wave velocity of the compliant side material. And, the contact of crack surfaces behind the propagating interfacial crack tip has been reported some experimental, analytical and numerical studies, In this study, we recorded interfacial transonic fractures phenomena and inclined fracture phenomena by ultra high-speed video camera. Based on the measurements of crack tip positions, the histories of crack propagating velocities could be estimated. And, we observed stress distributions near the crack tip in transonic fracture phenomena by the Caustics and C.G.S. method.
