Ignition and combustion in the natural-gas DDF operation at various mixture conditions and injection quantities of diesel fuel were fundamentally investigated using a rapid compression/expansion machine. From the experimental results, requirements of intake pressure and oxygen fraction at different natural-gas equivalence ratios for ensuring the stable ignition and the high combustion efficiency were discussed at a constant intake-pressure condition and a stoichiometric condition.
