At present, diesel engine having higher thermal efficiency than gasoline engine is attracting attention, and further improvement in thermal efficiency and lower emission are required.
Therefore, we have been focusing on techniques for forming lean and homogeneous mixture at early stage by dissolving EGR gas into fuel and releasing dissolved gas with decompression.
In this report, we evaluated the characteristics of fuel spray using CO2 gas dissolved fuel. We evaluated the effect of dissolved gas effervescence on spray shape by comparing gas effervescence model and the results of spray visualization experiment with shadowgraph photography.
