Abstract

In recent years, gas turbine combined cycle has become a main current of the thermal power generation in Japan. Therefore, to achieve further high efficiency of high-loaded turbine in order to effectively utilize energy resources is very importance. In addition, efforts toward carbon neutrality are gaining momentum around the world. For this purpose, it is important to increase the efficiency of thermal power generation, which emits a large amount of greenhouse gases. In this research, the mechanism of loss generation in gas turbine cascades was clarified by using an automatic cascade performance measurement system, visualization test rig, CFD analysis and the secondary flow loss reduction was investigated analytically and experimentally. In order to reproduce a situation closer to that of an actual turbine than in previous studies, a three-dimensional blade design was applied. In addition, the improvement of the loss reduction effect was investigated by combining the optimized 3D fence.
