Recently, decarbonization has become a major issue around the world, but the demand for thermal power generation is still high in Japan, and the efficiency of combined cycle power generation, including GTCC, is increasing. An effective method is to raise the turbine inlet temperature (TIT), and the development of a high-performance cooling system is required. In the cooling flow passage inside the turbine blade, the heat transfer has been improved by promoting turbulence by the rib turbulator, but there are few examples or studies of improving the thermal performance by use of the side wall. Therefore, in this research, the effect of the installation of the side wall ribs on the heat transfer and flow characteristics was investigated by experiments and CFD, and the optimal shape, arrangement and further development were investigated.
