Abstract
In the relay, the contact trouble occurs because of a foreign body that exists on the electrodes. This paper presents the results of experimental and analytical studies of the motion of a charged particle under uniform electric field. The experimental apparatus consists of parallel plate electrodes vibrated with a shaker. The particle was charged in the rotating cylinders which are made of ABS or PTFE. The motion of the charged particle has been carefully investigated with a high speed camera. It was found that the motion of the charged particle depends on parameters such as electric field strength, amplitude and frequency.
