Abstract
This paper describes a new virtual reality-based skill training and human resource development for undergraduate mechanical engineering students. The virtual reality-based skill training system is able to reproduce the environment of a casting technology. The most notable advantages of this system are that students can virtually experience the workflow prior to actually performing the practice at the worksite, one can learn about procedures beforehand. Our skill training allows the students to experience the perception of actually being in a particular environment.
