Abstract
Injection molding has some kind of faults, i.e. sink, weld line and warp, and so on. The warp is especially caused by the temperature gradient and residual stress of molding process. These faults should be inhibited since they influence the dimensions of moldings. The warp on the molding whose shape having flat plate is likely to be caused by differential resin packing time in the flow process. In this study, two gate type of molding models which have fan gate, or pin gate at the flat section are produced, and are carried out resin flow and shrinkage analyses to investigate effect on the flat section by the difference in the shape of gates. The shape of gates has effect on displacement distribution of work peace.
