Performance analysis of heat pump system utilizing waste heat from servers

Abstract

Data centers use 40 percent of the total electricity consumption for cooling servers. The objective of this study is to make simulation models to analyze the performance of a heat pump system which utilizes the waste heat of servers for hot water supply. It was predicted that the COP of the heat pump system would be 5~6 when it produces hot water of 60°C.
