Abstract
The optical telemeter system, which converts the temperature of rotating spindle to the digital data and carries out the optical transmission of the digital data from rotating side toward stationary side with LED and PD, has been developed. Based upon the temperature distribution obtained by adopting the telemeter system on hollow ball-screw, the thermal elongation of the ball-screw is estimated as the one-dimensional thermal elongation. Estimation accuracy, which is the difference between the estimated thermal elongation and the measured thermal elongation, is -3.1∿+3.2μm for the thermal elongation of 50∿60μm over the length of 935.5mm of the ball-screw.
