Abstract
In this research, our objective is to develop high-speed and high-precision processing for the multi-axis NC simulator by using a Boundary-Map geometric model. The Boundary-Map geometric model we are proposing is a solid model developed to accommodate CAM functions. This paper refers to three functions we have developed to use the Boundary-Map geometric model for the multi-axis NC simulator. The first is a function to create discrete points and tool vectors per interpolation cycle time according to the tool path. The second is a function to change the tool shape at a given point and the tool vector to a Boundary-Map representation. The third is a function to remove the tool shape from the work shape. By performing processing for the multi-axis tool path, it is evident that the proposed system is able to perform multi-axis NC simulation by using the Boundary-Map geometric model.
