Abstract
This paper presents concept of JIT implementation through the Axiomatic Design principles/tool. A case study was made in a company already, well established company. JIT refers to facilitating the flow of material, reducing the cycle time, increasing the production rate and is recognized as one of the most efficient manufacturing operations in the world. In its simplest form JIT requires that only the necessary units be provided in the necessary quantities at the necessary times. Axiomatic design is a scientifically based design theory that guides designers through the process of first mapping customer needs into functional requirements, then mapping these requirements into design parameters, and then finally figuring out processes to produce those design parameters which introduces Manufacturing System Design Decomposition (MSDD).
