Abstract
This paper describes a servo-clinometer with a laser level that can automatically measure the angular deviations of a tilting axis in five-axis machining centers. A servo-clinometer using electronic level was developed to measure the angular deviations of a tilting table whose central axis is lower than its surface. However, the resolution of the electronic level was too low to perform high-accuracy measurements. To overcome this problem, a high-resolution laser level was developed. Experimental results demonstrate that the servo-clinometer with the developed laser level can be used to measure the angular deviations of a tilting axis with a high resolution and a high accuracy.
