Abstract
As a part of study on the diffusion control and the direction one the velocity measurements of the jet flow issuing from the pentagonal duct with and without the synthetic jet were carried out using the hot wire sensors and the constant temperature anemometer. And the jet diffusion was investigated by analyzing the velocity distributions, the velocity decays, the jet half value widths and turbulent intensities. As a result, it has been found that the width of the jet with synthetic jet becomes large, comparing with that of the jet without one. Moreover, to reveal the coherent structure of the jet flow, the continuous wavelet transform was performed using the information of the fluctuating velocity at the measuring point showing the half value width. As a result, it has been also clarified that the intermittency in the shear layer of the jet with the synthetic jet can be obtained.
