Abstract
Inrotary cutting, very small coefficient of friction between chip and tool by using a rotary cutting tool with surface texture is obtained. However, when the temperature of the tool rises, the effect disappears. In this paper, the effect of high viscous cutting fluids (VG220 and VG460) in rotary cutting for aluminum alloy is investigated. Cutting tests by use of combine machine tool are carried out. Ratio of tool velocity and cutting velocity is range of 0.5 to 6. As a result, the coefficient of friction is less than 0.2 can be obtained.
