Regional industrial heritages are the important historical resources in the regions and have a potential to contribute to the revitalization and the sustainable future. Thus, the preservation and active usage of the industrial heritages is the objective of this article. The collaboration of the regional museum of science and technology with both people and community is to be a useful scheme in successful activities for approaching to the goal. In the present discussion, the author introduces a railway museum, the STEAM in Swindon, UK. It was established in 2000 to memorize the local history and spirit in Swindon that was composed from the railway industry in 1840s. The STEAM has run with the community and surrounding organizations under the synergetic mind based on regional boast.
