The authors computed under expanded jets of combustion gas by using the OpenFOAM and their Mach disc locations were compared with the values calculated by an empirical formula proposed by Addy. The computational domain of free-jet block is rectangle, with height of 100mm, length of 200mm. In the nozzle block, the axial length of the converging nozzle of 70mm, nozzle inlet radius of 35mm, nozzle exit radius of 10mm. The grid number in the free-jet domain is 200×300. The axial minimum grid size was 0.5mm near the nozzle exit. Combustion chamber pressure set at 0.7 and 1.0 MPa. Fuel and oxidizer selected are propylene and oxygen, respectively. Combustion gas temperature, chemical compositions are calculated by Chemical Equilibrium with Applications developed by NASA. The simulated Mach disc locations extracted from the simulated flow fields solved by the OpenFOAM compare well with the values obtained by the empirical formula.
