This paper deals with active variable humps on the effect of controlling vehicle speeds by a experimental study. The active humps can vary their heights adequately using hydraulic cylinders according to speeds and masses of vehicles passing over the humps. We made a scale model of active hump system and measured the normal acceleration of the vehicle passing over the active hump. As a result of the experiment, we confirmed the scale model of active humps can control speeds of vehicles passing over the humps.
