Abstract
Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy polymers (CFRP) have been applied as light structural materials with high strjpnth. To reduce the cost of CFRP, the sandwich structural composite polymers of ABS and PC [(CFRP/ABS/CFRP) and (CFRP/PC/CFRP)] have been proposed and successfully developed. All Charpy impact values (α_<uc>) of (CFRP/PC/CFRP) are apparently higher than those of CFRP/ABS/CFRP before and after EB-irradiation. Homogeneous EB-irradiation with 100 keV class and small dose of 0.22 and 0.44 MGy perfectly improved the α_<uc> of both CFRP/ABS/CFRP and CFRP/PC/CFRP composites, respectively.
