Since the observation of the asteroid pair of "Ida" and "Dactyl" by Galileo in 1993, much effort has been made on the space mission design for such asteroid pairs; especially, stability analysis for relative equilibria is focused on as one of the crucial subjects. In this paper, we investigate stability of the relative equilibria of binary asteroids that are comprised of two rigid bodies and we show that four relative equilibria of binary asteroids can be developed as a stationary orbit in the context of the Dirac reduction theory. Moreover, we utilize the energy-momentum method for the stability analysis of the relative equilibria. Finally, we show the stability region and demonstrate the stability around the steady motion by numerical simulations.
