For the establishment of the high air speed standard from 40 m/s to 90 m/s at NMIJ/AIST, measurement of the velocity profiles at the round free jet was conducted by the hot-wire anemometer and total pressure tube. The precise velocity of the jet flow was obtained by exchanging from the volume flow rate to the velocity by the voltage profile of the hot-wire anemometer. It was estimated that velocity increase at the jet edge by hot-wire anemometer is the Reynolds number-independent. It was cleared that the velocity profiles is good axis-symmetry and the velocity between measured and the rectangular velocity profile has difference values. The velocity profile is very important for the exchange method from the volume flow rate to precise velocity.
