Magnetic ejection effect on vapor bubbles in a magnetic fluid has been applied to the heat transfer device and development of a new energy conversion system using gas-liquid two-phase flows. It is effective in increasing the driving force of magnetic fluid in a non-uniform magnetic field and can enhance the heat transfer properties. The more detailed measurement of void fraction of vapor bubbles is particularly important for better understanding the characteristics of the magnetic ejection effect behaviors. In this study, electromagnetic induction method is applied to measuring the vapor void fraction. Applying a non-uniform magnetic field, the void fraction was reduced. Consequently, the measuring method has demonstrated a promising capability of measuring vapor void fraction under a magnetic field.
