Abstract
Surface grinding process is hard to be automated because flesh surface of grinding wheel is difficult to maintain. On the other hand, ELID grinding method, which used for mirror finish of ceramics and materials to cut difficultly, can dress grinding wheel for keeping good edge of wheel in process and don't require skill of experts. The purpose of this study is the improvement of accurate grinding of thin plates of S45C by ELID. The high feed rate of work table is required for the production efficiency. The grinding force increases with the feed rate. But grinding force ratio, which is the ratio of the tangential force and the normal force, doesn't correlate with feed rate. The grinding force ratio is related to direction of warpage of workpiece.
