Abstract
To realize high accurate machining process with high productivity, it is necessary to create machine specific NC data, which are current machining process data, in order to take into account physical and kinematic characteristics of individual machine tool. However, machine dependent NC data prevent reusing the data to other machine. In this research, generic CNC interface for applying individual machine tools is proposed to realize advanced machining, which is feature-based and machine independent using STEP-NC and STEP-NC machine tool model. STEP-NC remedies the shortcomings of current NC data.
