Abstract
A PBL of "Material Planning Theory" which was opened from April to June in 2014 as a lecture of the Design Science master's course of Chiba University was carried out, in which the participants were requested to propose some ideas by using "the active composite" which controlled transformation due to the electricity fever of the laminating board by CFRP and the metal material by anisotropy of the CFRP, in order to find out a way which can connect the daily life with the extraordinary, e.g. in a disaster, by using the material. The participants were 24 1st degree masters' course students who belonged to the laboratories of various design domains. The students were briefly lectured about the material "active composite" and they were requested to investigate the properties and the characteristics by themselves at first. After learning the material, the objective of the application of the material was explained to them in order to make them produce some ideas.
