Abstract
Feedback control of flow separation on airfoils have been investigated by using various sensors and actuators. Although dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuators (DBD-PAs), which consist of sheet dielectric layers sandwiched by exposed and encapsulated electrodes, are very promising device for mitigating flow separation on airfoils, induced flows heated by DBDs affect the detections of flow separation by using flow sensors such as MEMS sensors and fiber Bragg grating sensors. In this presentation, several methods for detecting flow separation are discussed in order to construct feedback control system of flow separation.
