Photovoltaic-thermal hybrid solar system using CO_2 as a working fluid was investigated. The system involves photovoltaic solar panel combined with solar thermal collector. The flow passage of the thermal collector was designed with heat and flow analysis. The designed photovoltaic-thermal hybrid solar system was newly manufactured as a prototype device and then tested in the present study. In experimental results, the electric power generation of the designed system was improved 10 W/h compared with a solar module without cooling. It is found that the back-side of photovoltaic-thermal hybrid solar system panel is maximum 25 ℃ lower than that using solar module without cooling. It was shown that this is due to the phase change of CO_2 in the day time oporation.
