Recently, scale of a recall becomes larger than ever. In this situation, systematic support methods on recall processes are hoped for. This study proposed a support method on recall processes by using design/manufacturing process information and a framework of information management for the method. Proposal method supports the processes that investigate to determine the cause of a problem and determine products which are subject to recall. First, the framework of information management which enables to support the recall processes was discussed. It is based on two types of bill of materials: engineering bill of material and manufacturing bill of material. Then, the support method which depends on the framework for the two processes of recall was proposed. It consists of following five steps: estimating the parts which cause a problem by using Fault Tree Analysis supported by functional diagram and engineering bill of materials, judging whether the cause lies in design process or manufacturing process by comparing design specification and product which contains the problem, approach to the problem caused by design process by classifying cause of problems in detail and correspondence according to classification, identifying the manufacturing process which made the problem and cause analysis using by process failure mode and effect analysis, and identifying the products which are subject to recall by using data of manufacturing.
