This paper analyzes pipeline in Japanese pharmaceutical industry empirically. At first, we examine current phase and abandoned phase in Japan. Next, we focus on 2 company (one has experienced joint-research with academia while another has not so much). We examine current phase and abandoned phase of them. We almost found that there is a death valley in phase II.
