Abstract

Method for straightening beam which distorted after heat treatment is studied. 3-point and 4-point bending were used for the straightening. Load-flexure relation is affected by hysteresis. We achieved two step bending to target flexure. The two step bending showed more straight unloading line from unloading point. But it has hysteretic curve in lower load. We also tested reverse bending for the case of excess of flexure over target. The reverse bending usually shows hysteresis curve. But we could find the slope of unloading line with two step reverse bending. The difference between 3-point and 4-point bending is found the curvature of beam. 4-point bending is appropriate for changing curvature.
