Foamed metal is three-dimensional network metal of porous such as a sponge. The formed metals have many unique proeperties, such as lightweight properties, sound absorbability, and shock absorption. And so the materials come into action to industrial products. However, the strengths of the formed metal are lower than of rigid materials. In this study, we use recycled aluminum useful for industry. A locally foamed Al alloys are fabricated using “re-heated method.” The re-heated method can spreads bubbles in the formed metal more particularity than simple casting method. First, availability of the locally formed metal in a piston are verified using CAE simulation. Second, the locally formed Al alloy are produced using re-heating method, and finally, the strengths of the rigid part in the formed Al alloy are considered by Vickers Hardness test, measurement of porosity ratio, and Chemical composition using EDS analysis. According to the results, an availability of the locally formed metal are shown.
