Guided wave technique for the nondestructive testing is one of the useful and efficient screening methods. Due to its long range propagation behavior, locations of defects can be detected effectively by the technique. However, the evaluations of defects were not yet quantitative. To improve the quantitativeness of the technique, in the paper, mathematical model or reflection at detect for both the SH plate wave and the Lamb wave were proposed. The mathematical model was first proposed herein. Comparison the model with the experiments were carried out.
